An interesting ballot

Paul Hoynes, who covers the Indians for the Plain Dealer (I think — not sure) had this ballot:

In that regard, here are the 10 players I voted for this year: Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Edgar Martinez, Jack Morris, Alan Trammell, Lee Smith, Frank Thomas and Tim Raines.

Lee Smith and Jack Morris probably don’t deserve to be there, but if you’re going to stick hard core to the “no PEDs” rule, this is the best ballot you could probably have, except for no Piazza. I don’t think he was ever linked to PEDs, but I could be mistaken.

Top thirty crime procedurals, #25: Adam-12

IMDB link.

Basic premise: Because not everyone is always a detective.

Why it’s here: Kent McCord. This is probably a little bit of Farscape spill-over, but I’ve always liked him. Also, I really give them credit for showing the day-to-day stuff and keeping it interesting. If you ever wondered what COPS would be like if the average American wasn’t such a horrible person, Adam-12 is it.

Why it isn’t higher: It was a good solid show, but nothing ground-breaking.
