Joe Thomas almost got traded. It pains me severely to type those words. Thomas is a) a future Hall of Famer who b) loves Cleveland and playing here and c) is an outright steal, contract wise, given the quality of the player. What really sickens me is that we would have gotten a first and second rounder for him. That’s it. And we had to throw in a 4th rounder!
It’s possible that Farmer isn’t responsible. Reports suggest that Alec Scheiner was the mastermind behind the attempted fire sale. However, given that there is literally no upside to making this kind of trade, because missing a franchise LT just adds another hole to fill, somebody needs to get the axe or at least severely chastised for even attempting such a ludicrously one-sided trade.
