Basic premise: Nice guy PI, with a lot of charm and comedy.
Why it’s here: James Garner is one of my personal favorite actors. I almost put Maverick on this list too, but it’s been too long since I’ve seen it, and his crimes in that are fairly tame. Good theme song, too.
Why it isn’t higher: It was so inoffensive that it’s too inoffensive. It’s always worth watching, but you’ll rarely, if ever, be challenged by the show. Doesn’t really touch social tensions.
