Quantum Leap
General idea: Scott Bakula is your body double
Interesting because: Scott Bakula could play a wide range of characters and was an outstanding choice for Sam. The series itself was a very interesting concept: what if there was a chance that somebody could right historical wrongs, save lives, and generally try to make things a little bit better for everyone? This was also a series that I enjoyed growing up but haven’t gotten back to, like Tony. Like him, I’m not sure it would hold up as well today.
Annoying because: The rules change a bit too conveniently for my tastes. For example, when the plot called for it, different people could see Al: the mentally retarded and children were the most common culprits. Also, because of the nature of the show, the series was too plot-driven as opposed to character-driven.
Best season(s): 1-3
Worst season(s): 4-5. The shark-jumping moment was probably when Sam and Al switched places for an episode. Season 5 was a mess with the whole Waiting Room concept.
