Sometimes you win, sometimes the law wins.

Via Paco, a story about the 4-year-old daughter of a disabled mother who was forbidden from planting a garden because it violated USDA regulations.  Eventually the property management company backed down, with the USDA claiming that it has no regulations of that sort in effect, but not telling the property manager to back off.  Fortunately, she wasn’t trying to run a lemonade stand; then jackbooted agents would have come in.

On the other hand, Buckyballs are illegal and the government’s doing a great job of ruining peoples’ lives.  Sadly, this has become the norm.

On the other side, two Tennessee Republicans are trying to force the IRS to disclose whenever they access an individual’s information.  I wouldn’t mind seeing this for all agencies, including the NSA.
