A Minor Fix To Copyright

I’m a fan of getting rid of copyright in general, or at most, limiting it to a very short time (7 years for print, less for online media).  This is a great reason why.

A minor fix to copyright, short of getting rid of it, would be to put out-of-print books into the public domain 3 years after they go out of print.  If a book has been out of print for 3 years, it’s unlikely that the original publisher is going to re-issue that work, but that doesn’t mean that people won’t be interested in obtaining a copy of the book.
