The last month or so, I’ve been rather busy getting a house into shape. This has left relatively little time for blogging, hence the recent spate of quiet. I’m going to try to correct that over the course of the next month, now that things have settled down somewhat. Also expect house photos relatively soon.
In the meantime, here are some quick notes on things I have been up to:
- I’ve been reading David Weber’s Starfire series. It’s an interesting contrast to his Honor Harrington series: this one has a number of approximately equally-suited space-faring races, with humans as first among equals. Get the “The Stars at War” edition, as that puts the books into series chronological order as opposed to release chronological order. I currently have no intention of reading Steve White’s follow-up books.
- The recent Wolverine movie was pretty solid. I liked how they made the film character-driven rather than plot-driven, and although I had not seen any of the previous X-Men or Wolverine films, the plot made sense. There were a couple of “Wait, why are they doing this?” moments, but it’s a fun movie.
- If you live in the Research Triangle area, the Produce Box is a good source for fruits and vegetables. We average about $20-25 a week in produce and get a pretty large amount. It’s more expensive than the grocery store, but the difference in freshness is apparent.
