Short Passwords Won’t Work

An off-the-shelf nVidia video card's GPU can crack 6-character passwords in 4 seconds.  Note that the job gets exponentially more difficult as password length increases.  The absolute best thing you can do is get long, long passwords which won't appear in a dictionary.
