ATMs At Fault For Unemployment

Filed under: Curmudgeonliness, Economics — Kevin Feasel @ 6:37 pm

I wonder how TOTUS will feel when it finds out that President Obama is blaming its cousin for high unemployment rates

Bonus:  Obama is engaging in a well-known economic sophistry.  The idea that there is a fixed amount of labor and that machines replace human labor is as old as it is wrong.  Capital does not replace labor; it enhances labor and shifts people to do things which are more productive and valuable.  People, it turns out, are pretty resilient and can perform more than one or two activities.  Well, they can when there aren’t oppressive government regulations preventing them from doing so.

Via Paco, whose absence at the last Republican debate caused me not to discuss it at all.  Except there.  And there.  And there.

Foreclosing On The Bank

Filed under: Curmudgeonliness — Kevin Feasel @ 5:28 pm

Megan McArdle has a funny story regarding a Florida couple who foreclosed on Bank of America after they failed to pay legal fees.  Too bad Bank of America is “too big to fail;” otherwise, maybe they wouldn’t try to pull this kind of stuff.
