John Stossel On Health Care

Here’s John Stossel on why health care is so expensive. Short answer:  other people footing the bill.  Hilarious part:  John Stossel nailing the health industry spokesweasel on how things are more expensive because of them.  Yeah, government plays a very strong role in increasing the cost here (because they indirectly were responsible for health insurance being considered an employee perk due to price fixing during World War II, and then later pushed for HMOs in the 1970s by codifying the employer tax incentive for offering health care to employees), but the fundamental problem is that people are spending other peoples’ money, and when that happens, they don’t shop around, focus on cost, or try to find good deals.
