They Are Your Betters; Therefore, They Must Have Different Rules

Apparently, it’s okay for people in Congress to lie on their tax forms, but not you.  Kind of like how when Tim Geithner fails to pay taxes and blames TurboTax, it’s okay, but when you do it, it’s wrong.  And it’s not like these people shouldn’t know better:  Rangel is House Ways and Means Committee chairman (meaning that he helps write the tax code) and Geithner is in charge of the IRS.  But I do like the idea of the Rangel Rule:  if some schmuck in Congress can get away with not having to pay penalties on his taxes, why should anybody else?
