Unintended Consequences (Yet Again)

Filed under: Curmudgeonliness, Economics — Kevin Feasel @ 6:00 pm

Gotta pass the bill to see what’s in it.  And then watch in horror as people behave like rational actors rather than the mindless automatons you wanted.  So what is the natural reaction?  Take away choices until people do exactly what you want them to.

Hint:  there are always unintended consequences.  The more onerous you make it to hire somebody or keep somebody employed, the longer government hacks certain economists and the media will have to talk about “surprisingly” bad unemployment rates.
