How to screw up a good argument with a bad sentence

So, Bill Livingston supports me on the whole “Hall of Fame” thing. (Sure, he didn’t credit me by name, but I’m sure he meant to.) Then, he threw out this gem:

It simply seems silly that someone like Tim McCarver does not have a vote, and I do.

No. Tim McCarver does not deserve a vote. I don’t care about his job or how long he’s been involved in baseball. He is far too stupid to be given an HOF vote.
