Republicans haven’t had many good spokesmen against Obamacare and for reasonable alternatives (such as changing the employer health insurance tax credit to be a taxpayer credit), but they’ve got a big one now: Barack Obama. If you sign on to Obamacare, he notes, you won’t have to worry about private insurance disappearing because the government option will be run as well as the post office. The Heritage Foundation folks run with this and make a few good points, including that the USPS is burning money despite having a monopoly on a huge chunk of mail delivery.
As a bonus, maybe Obama will be able to squeeze in some TSA, too! If you like having poorly-paid individuals harass you and damage your luggage every time you fly, you’ll love it when they’re prescribing your drugs (well, after the six-month wait to see a Obamacare Practitioner, whose training will include a weekend seminar hosted by ACORN)!
