- Some banks are returning or planning on returning TARP funds. They don’t like all of the strings attached and the poor planning on the part of Treasury. Of course, they never should have been in the position to hand out this money to begin with.
- It takes a thief to catch a thief. This is probably the funniest story of the day.
- I’m totally, absolutely shocked: companies which donated to federal campaigns and hired lobbyists were more like to get TARP funds. The US is turning into a third-world country: all of our best and brightest are too busy figuring out how to bilk the taxpayer rather than create value. Well, I take it back: at least in Nigeria, they expanded it to foreign taxpayers, too…
